Many churches have small hand-held information boards or tour booklets for visitors. The boards can only carry a small amount of information, and the booklets either need reprinting if you have many visitors, or fade and curl at the corners if you have few. But with so many people carrying smart phones, you have the ideal opportunity to offer much more by setting up a simple internal web site (you don’t need an Internet connection or mobile signal to do this). This can provide not only written information and pictures, but also recorded audio or even video, all delivered directly to your visitor’s own phone. We can set up a simple system to do this for you. You need to provide the content and we provide the technical know-how.
If you do have an Internet connection then we can install a location-based tour which detects where you are in the building and automatically shows you a web page about that particular feature. It’s used a lot in museums, but can also be used in churches which often have a rich historical and spiritual heritage. This system uses small Bluetooth ‘beacons’ placed near each point of interest which the mobile device picks up and uses to load the appropriate content.
