Llangattock church has a simple sound reinforcement system which had been in place for several years and was no longer working very effectively. It is quite a simple system, with a single mixer amplifier, four wall mounted speakers and a selection of microphone sockets, but perfectly adequate for what is needed. On investigation it turned out that one of the wall speakers was generating very distorted sound and the levels had been turned down to avoid the distraction during services. Replacing the faulty speaker cured the unpleasant noise, and all the levels were then reset to give optimum output without feedback.
