Skirrid Systems was formed in 2013 as the trading name for Simon Large, an embedded systems engineer and web designer who has been living and working in South East Wales since 1993, and in England for ten years prior to that.
Having spent much of his spare time designing and maintaining websites and IT services for his church and other local organisations, it became clear that there was more work to be done here than could ever be achieved in spare time alone. So in 2017 Simon followed a vocational call to provide web design and IT support services to a broader range of churches and small charities, as well as local small businesses, making this the new focus of activity for Skirrid Systems.
Simon still does some embedded systems work with local electronics companies and continues to offer design services.
Why Skirrid Systems?
I have always loved the mountains and here in Abergavenny we are surrounded by them. The three closest to me are known as Sugarloaf, Blorenge and Skirrid and it was just a name that seemed to work.
